Mike loves art

Michael Blacksmith is a visual storyteller who embodies a seamless blend of innovation and authenticity. Growing up in San Diego during the late '70s and early '80s, he was deeply inspired by punk rock, surfing, and skateboarding cultures that celebrated raw self-expression. His journey through the digital age includes pivotal roles in the dot-com boom, where he helped develop essential tools that shaped today’s digital landscape. He also contributed to the early days of digital photography, working with major publications as digital images revolutionized visual storytelling.

Michael chooses to explore topics with profound societal impact - particularly those affecting our children’s future and the trajectory of humankind.

After a rugged climb up the corporate ladder, Michael spent 16 years as a CEO in the manufacturing sector, where he gained practical expertise in production, innovation, and leadership, insights he seamlessly integrates into his filmmaking, storytelling, and practical and digital art.

Wanna see my current Photography show - Aurora

A journey in two endeavors, one to begin to remove a camera from the creative process, I mean use the simplest camera I can, being free, and second to capture the Aurora in my style.

I use no filters, no color correction, no photoshop, and no altering

other than cropping - it's a game of time, light, and motion.

Let's Go....

My Blog - Power to the Pixel

Propaganda Beware - My other show

An expression of AI and its potential effect on humanity. both literally as written but in the creative process potentially erasing the human narrative.

Let's go....

A few of my movies

A short educational video describing the origin of our oceans.

A documentary short about a 57 year old woman who is hearing impaired chasing her dream to become a nurse. A single mother with two young kids was the first time she had to leave nursing school and the second time, because of her hearing loss, she was scared she would hurt a patient so she left school thinking it wasn't meant to be. Only to go after it one more time, now for a Masters of Science Nursing. Told from the authentic place you will root for her with all your heart.
